    VivoActive 3

The Garmin Connect app takes some getting used to for finding all the settings and whatnot, but it’s manageable. The first 2-3 weeks I had issues of redness and soreness from wearing the watch all the time. Switching wrists every 1-2 days helped and now I can wear it on the same wrist about all the time (the instructions say to periodically switch up which wrist you wear it on and to take it off after sweating to let it and your skin dry; it helps to follow those instructions). Stats seem to be pretty accurate (I can confirm heart rate is since I have a separate monitor to check the Garmin against). Plays nice with other apps. Battery lasts around 4-5 days if not using it for recording longer workouts daily. I mainly use the VivoActive to record walks. Haven’t had a chance to try outdoor cycling yet. Indoor cycling I use my phone with an app controlling a smart trainer and wear an HR strap (both using Bluetooth), so I skip wearing the watch for that. The watch combined with using MyFitnessPal to track calories has helped me eat better and lose some weight. I’ve gained insights into my sleep habits and daily activity level. Overall it’s been a good investment for improving fitness and diet.

  • Good watch.

I had the Fenix 5X for about a month and didn't like how big and bulky it was so I got rid of it and got this one. It does everything I need. No detailed GPS trail maps like the Fenix 5 but for $400 less I can use my iphone GPS and have better detail. I would give this 4.5 stars but not quite a 5 star because it seems to have off days with tracking steps, stairs and sleep. GPS mode for tracking running and hiking seems to be pretty spot on but the day to day tracking of the before mentioned stuff is not quite perfect, it gives rem, deep and light sleep time, not really sure how they get that info when it doesn't really even know when I actually fall asleep or wake up. When I wake up in the morning and lounge in bed or watch TV at night it often counts that as sleep. Sometimes it will stop tracking flights of stairs but most days it is pretty on. It also sometimes counts stupid things like typing or other tasks as steps. Was building a deck today and got like 10x as many steps as I normally do because of the drill and saw makes it all seem like steps. Might be wishful thinking but I would love to have these things tracked exactly, maybe in a few more years, keep going Garmin.

  • 5/5 - GREAT smartwatch! Tons of features, sensors, and data! Only few minor complaints

Originally, I wrote a 767-word review about this watch, but eBay for one reason or another wouldn't let me post it. But to paraphrase it: So far, I truly love this watch overall. There are a couple things which could be improved, but they're by all means negligible for my daily use. Pros: - Screen: Great daylight visibility, if slightly low resolution - All-day heart rate tracking - Watch faces: Customizable and plenty of options - Build: Looks great, light, durable as far as I can tell - GPS - Garmin Pay: Haven't used it yet, but I like the idea and I like that my purchase history isn't going to Apple or Google - Customizability - Touch sensor on the side: I can't recall what weird branding thing they called it, but on the opposite side of the watch as the button, there's a textured strip which will detect your touch. This is used to scroll in the watch interface. It's Garmin's response to a rotating crown or rotating bezel. It could function a little better, but I definitely prefer this 90% of the time over scrolling by touching the screen. - Sensors: Lots of them, very useful - Water resistant - Garmin Connect app: lots of data - Sleep tracking - Battery: Without charging, it'd probably last anywhere between 3-6 days. It doesn't take long at all to charge, though, so if you just take it off to charge it only when you shower and brush, it'll last a good week and a half - Standard interchangeable watch strap Cons: - GPS altitude: Seems inconsistent and inaccurate, but from what I've looked up it seems this is a software issue which will be fixed at some point - Charging cable isn't magnetic, but it is very snappy so it won't come out, so there's that - Scroll bar on the side can be a bit clunky as I mentioned, but I like it overall In summary: It's really good. I love it. Especially if you can find it for cheaper (as you can here on eBay), it's a great deal.

  • Lightweight easy to use watch

A great watch which is so lightweight, you often forget you are even wearing it. The battery life is brilliant. Even with a lot of running, it will still last a good few days. I love the ease of navigation and use and the connect IQ store which allows you to download lots of add-ons are great.

  • A nice upgrade from the original Vivoactiv.

This is a nice watch with a new look and many new features that I am still exploring. I use the watch in the water each day for tracking my workouts. Out of the water I am enjoying the heart rate tracking feature and full featured tracking including sleep. Also, it syncs up with my Iphone 7+ effortlessly and makes me aware of incoming texts and calls. All in all, I really like it.

  • Quick, decent and with great features

Great watch, accurate step counting, has many features, I like that I just press two buttons when I do something and then I don't have to think about it. Gps here is a good thing

  • After 1 week, Vivoactive 3 is so far, so good.....

I have had my Vivoactive 3 for a little over a week and I am still trying to set it up. I much nicer design than the Vivoactive HR and should be more durable with the Stainless Steel bezel as I cracked the crystal on my "HR" which was the reason for replacing. I will say the recharge frequency is much more frequent than the Vivoactive "HR". Definitely inconvenient. Way too early to have enough experience to give it a fair review

  • Accuracy

Decided to try Garmin out after my FitBit Inspire 2 finally gave up the ghost. I've used it for lifting and swimming so far, its accuracy with both is impressive. I didn't expect it to do so well with recognizing each type of lift and recording every single rep, and the depth of data that it gathers is great for continuous improvement. I only wish the battery lasted longer.

  • As good as new.

Product works as described. I tried cycling and running so far, gps worked all the way. HR monitor, pedometer and altmeter also work as described. Watch came in original package, with bubble wrap. Manual and usb charger were also provided.
