Love it despite the battery life.
Even though the mower comes with batteries that only allow 20 minutes of mowing per session, I went ahead and ordered it, and I haven't been disappointed. I ordered a 9ah battery and use that along with one of the 5h batteries for the first 1/2 of my mowing session, then when that 5ah runs out, I put the other one in and still the 9ah will outlast that one, too. That gives me about 35 minutes of total mowing time. I took out the mulching attachment (as someone else suggested to improve battery life) and still it doesn't leave a bunch of clippings behind. The lawn looks nice and even after it's mowed. I like how easy it is to raise and lower the blade level. The mower is light-weight and easy to maneuver. Great mower! (if you have the right batteries)
I already have dewalt tool and several batteries, including 4 of the 60/20 flexvolts. If you don't have the flexvolts this mower will not do what you want it to do. All the bad reviews are from people who do not have the bigger batteries. You can't expect to run a large machine for very long on the small batteries,that's absurd. Even adding in the cost of having to purchase more or bigger batteries, this will save you money in the long run over having to purchase gas/oil/repairs on a traditional mower. Just don't be a nitwit and expect to mow half an acre on a small battery. The batteries that come with it will mow approximately a yard the size you find in a condo complex in Florida.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great mower
Received the mower yesterday which happened to be two day earlier than expected! Upon opening, i immediately pit the batteries charging. Then I pulled the entire motor out of the box. I notices the left rear wheel bent. Not a huge deal, I took the wheel off and bent it back into place. It started getting. Dark and I wanted to try it. I grabbed the half charged batteries and headed out in the yard. It worked amazingly! I am ecstatic Granted this is the first time using it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Probably too early to do this but - based on the only time I have used it: 1) Deck height adjustment is very simple 2) Attaching the catch bag was very simple 3) Cuts very aggressively 4) Cut about .15 acres and still had 2 green lights remaining on each battery (Three on each represents a full charge) 5) The appearance of the cut lawn is excellent 6) Pushes easily for a heavy duty deckVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great green energy lawnmower for small yards or for older people that can't pull start a gas lawnmower
Nice to be able to pop in the batteries and hit the button and take off cutting. Cons would be it last ok on light grass but will not hold up long on thick grass. It mow’s a California lawn front and back with battery to spare
Get mows a California lawn front and back with battery to spare. Granted it’s a small truck home front and backyard. Totally satisfied so I bought a 20 V blower and hedger. Low noise, no gasoline smell, aggressive cutting, easily controllable.
Just so you know, I have less than 1/2 acre of grass which is landscaped with stone walls making it an array of smaller sections usually containing trees and other plantings. And most areas have been re seeded. I bought this because it was far more maneuverable than my last gasoline mower, and would make the job easier. No need for ear protection either. No combustion smell. You also should consider the need for at least 10 ah worth of batteries if you plan on doing an entire 1/2 acre. It came with 5 ah, and I have plenty of others because I use many other tools in the Dewalt 20v max system. Actually I was impressed how well this handled tall grass, more definitively than my previous 6 hp gasoline mower. But the idea is to cut the grass more frequently keeping it maybe 4 in high where it looks lush and green. I found the job all together easier.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Battery hog that cuts very well
This thing is a monster, chews through 5.0ah batteries fast but cuts extremely well It brings what used to be a 1.5 hour chore down to 30 minutes. I am on .2 acres and i go through 2 sets of batteries because my old ones are wore out and the new ones that came with it were no good. Warranty will replace them soon, currently waiting. Mower folds easy, cleans pretty easy too. The first review i saw of these showed 1/4 acre done on one charge, i would suggest larger batts or more sets at 1/4 acre or more.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
