Ladder has some drawbacks.
Let me start by saying this is a great ladder for my purposes. I bought it to use outside on hedges and small trees. While I can use this ladder to change bulbs up to 10ft but the actual work platform is a little high for average house work inside. I prefer my 3 step with wide steps, all three, for inside work on windows, curtains, and most things in an 8ft. range. Cosco makes a shorter, lighter ladder of the same design that would be more appropriate for jobs in the 6 to 8ft range. The Cosco ladder is a little heavy to lug around the house for little jobs. It's a very stable ladder with a 300# rating. While the work trays are very convenient for tools and parts, the steps are on a steep angle, I have to be careful not to bang my chins on them and the next step when standing on the lower steps. I gave it 4 stars because when I received mine, the apparatus used to latch the parts drawer was damaged. It is a circled plastic spring which applies pressure to a hook that secures the drawer. One side of the circle was broke but the latch still works. When I requested a new piece from Cosco they told me they didn't have the part and my only option was to return the ladder for replacement (possibly a $5 part). Since it still functions, I'll have to find a way to repair the part. While I would recommend this ladder, I would also add that when buying a ladder, always consider the proposed uses. Unique sturdy design
This ladder is an outstanding product. Strong, light weight and utile. Easy to open and close and safer than conventional step ladders. The Cosco design incorporates many user-friendly features like a handle that is convenient for carrying the ladder as well as locking the ladder in the closed position. It has a built in tool/paint tray and a paper towel roll holder. Stores easily too. I have not found any negatives so far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
