The Hama Black USB 3.0 SuperSpeed SD/microSD Card Reader is for reading microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC/SD/SDHC/SDXC. For real-time/broadcast recording, it allows faster and direct data transfer between a memory card and a UHS-I capable terminal device. It has an LED function display which informs you about status of connection, it supports USB 3.0 SuperSpeed upto 5 Gbps but is backward compatible with USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/s) and USB 1.1 (12 Mbit/s). From Hama Germany - not cheap Chinese rubbish found elsewhere. The turbo driver can be downloaded from the Miicrosoft free of charge for older version of windows.

Hama SD reader
This small usb card reader is powerful. USB 3 certified by trusted Hama brand. I can take the sd memory from my Nikon and download/share photos directly on laptop. A blue LED shows when data transfer is up, that is usually very fast! I just ordered a second one to give as present. We discovered that using an adaptor (usb3 host/usb C for my Android) it is easy and fast sharing photos via smartphone too! A great USB SD reader
This is a very compact and useful device, the SD card and/or micro SD cards fit into a slot on the side and the data is transferred very quickly. It is lightweight and is a snug fit into a USB port, the cover is useful but it should also have a sliding door on the side to stop dirt entering the SD card ports, it would have been absolutely perfect then.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent Quality Card Reader
I've had MANY similar over the years but usually not well made and don't last. Went for this brand as heard it was German. As expected it's a VERY sound piece of kit, well made and with firm connections. I wish I'd got this sooner it would have saved HOURS of my life wasted trying to make others work - over YEARS of frustration.
