Great Concept...A Wee Bit Chincy in Contruction
First point...there is no "padding" as mentioned in the product description as of this listing. The design of the unit is good, but the construction of it is 'so-so'. It is shorter than a typical 5-gallon bucket with similar diameter. There is an inner bucket to hold the contents.
The toilet seat is of okay comfort, made of hard plastic and best suited for smaller, uh, people. The lid works well to contain the odors, supposing that most people will use this inside of a tent or trailer while camping.
The unit is made in Canada, and the best advice is to shop around for best pricing. Find a good deal on biodegradable bags, and double line the inner bucket. We discovered that the sawdust pellets from a farm supply store work really well for absorbing liquids and smells. Far better than cat litter. Overall, these are a better idea than the two tank designs that contain both water and waste. If you use biodegradable bags, simply dig a hole and bury the contents 10 to 12 inches or so.
