    Built to Last

It took years to discover this one, but now I've stopped looking, as this is the best garlic press ever! It's solid, sturdy, 18/10 stainless, and has a lifetime warranty. Because it is stainless, it doesn't discolor garlic (don't you hate it when that happens?). It's also easy to clean because the crushing mechanism swings outward for easy access to the garlic clove remnants. Anecdotally, during the holiday season, I discovered that Roesle was now making a new model that scrapes off the pressed garlic in a second step. I bought one and have now returned it because it didn't perform as well as this model. It held a huge capacity, but the scraping was inefficient and wasteful. A word to the wise -- newer doesn't always mean better.

  • Most critical review

it works, but nothing substantially beyond shiny stainless steel

I looked forward to this with great expectations, having recently purchased an $8 press at a local supermarket that is easy to clean but difficult to use. While the Rosle certainly presses garlic with relative ease, the cloves are nearly liquified rather than grated in texture. This also cleans rather easily, but some press ooze does come out of the sides. My wife has a 30 year old "white metal" unit made by SUSI (Swiss). Aside from cleaining difficulty, it works flawlessly.I'll continue to use the Rosle. I own it, but would not repeat the purchase had I known. Many positive reviews leave me scratching my head...……..maybe they just don't make simple kitchen utensils the way they used to?

  • Impressive garlic press. Quality tool that presses garlic with ease.

The Rosle 12782 has now become my favorite kitchen tool, and I find myself eating more garlic because it's so easy to make minced garlic. I can feel the quality when holding the tool from the hinges, finish, and handles. I've read the reviews on the 12782 vs the newer redesign, and it seems like the 12782 is preferred by garlic press aficionados. After cooking many dishes with the 12782, I can see why. Every press minces out 99% of the garlic, and it's easy to press many cloves in succession. Garlic fries, garlic bread, sauces...the possibilities!

  • The BEST garlic press!

In a past life I worked as a professional chef. A solid, dependable, easy cleaning garlic press is an essential part of a chefs' tool chest, especially when things get crazy fast in the kitchen. This IS that garlic press! I have given these as gifts because I am so pleased with the function and comfort in using the tool. One can move a huge amount of garlic through this puppy, with super fast cleaning, no plugging or jamming problems. Really is the best, you will see.

  • German made the real deal

Great garlic press built like a tank and very functional. I have read reviews that claim it's made in China I assume they are knock offs because there was no indications of mine being made in China (picture taken) It's a night quality kitchen tool that I have no regrets purchasing and recommend it too anyone tired of breaking garlic presses and repurchasing inexpensive ones over and over. Super easy to clean and will crush garlic with minimal effort.

  • Lives up to press

Finally, a Garlic Press that really presses garlic. I read about this device in a Chinese Food cook book and thought I'd give it a try. (I already have two devices that go by the name of 'garlic press') When it arrived it looked sturdy enough, but the proof was in the pressing. Love this machine, it actually does what it's supposed to do - press garlic! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and worth every penny. You will not be disappointed with this device.

  • GREAT Garlic Press

OMG!!!!! This is the BEST garlic press, ever! If you hate peeling the skin from the cloves, you can even crush it with the skin on, or peeled. Easy to use, doesn't bend, like my last one did and it cost as much as this one. Also, all-in-one construction makes it easy to clean too. My mother-in-law has this one from Williams-Sonoma for $50!

  • The best press ever

Many a garlic press in my past. Ok was as good as they got. Always a lot of unpressed garlic either squirting through the hinge or left in the cavity. I tried this one when visiting my sister and immediately ordered it. The price here was less than my sis paid at the fancy kitchen store. If you are a garlic lover who thinks a recipe calling for one or two cloves is a joke, this is the press for you.
