Does the job.
Bought this at a very good price just to knock the temperature down a few degrees in our second floor master before going to bed. Our single heat pump unit doesn't cool upstairs well. Unit is fairly noisy -- even on low setting. Kinda like those under-window motel units. Like that it is evaporative so no emptying condensate -- yet. Didn't know before buying it's supposed to be on a dedicated 15 amp circuit. We keep everything else on circuit off when it's running except a couple of lights -- which dim when compressor kicks in. When installing window vent, found parts don't match instructions. So you'll need an electric drill in addition to the hand tools they recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The 8K btu Haier AC portable cools the TV room 11'6" x 20' from 78*F to 71*F in 5 hours. It sits 4 ' from the Samsung 36" tv and vents through a nearby window. great, needs a lower fan speed.

Works well even in Arizona
This little gem has been a real super saver in the 110 plus degree heat we have been experiencing for weeks straight here in Arizona. If you are in a milder climate, and you are getting this for a smallish area, you should be pleasantly surprised. We are using this A/C in my art studio which is a travel trailer that I have set up to do my art work in. It keeps this 26 foot travel trailer very comfortable. There is little to no insulation in this trailer, but the internal temperatures inside the trailer have been about 80, and this is in the blistering hot Arizona summer. Nice little A/C unit that solved a big problem, I love it!
I read the reviews others left for this, but to be the voice of reason, it's an air conditioner, you are going to hear it, but it isn't loud or annoying. It's as heavy as it has to be but for what it does it feels lighter than I'd expect it to. It's attractive, white, clean looking with a nice visual display of the controls. It rolls around easily and all accessories for installation seem to be very high quality, it doesn't feel cheap even though the price was quite low. I have a 1903 Queen Anne Country Victorian farm house that has no heating or air conditioning upstairs. The bathroom upstairs gets too hot during the summer, so after suffering with it for 29 years I finally bought this and hooked it up to vent out through a window, and in as little as an hour, this brought the temperature down from the 90's to the 70's so the room is comfortable. I should have bought this decades ago. I dreaded the installation and I was unsure what all the various parts it came with were for, when My 65 year old Wife came downstairs and told Me SHE had already installed it herself in less than a half hour.
