When you need a longer cropped head bolt
Cropped head bolts are a great idea but it can be really fiddly keeping them at the correct angle to tighten especially if you are attaching a thick section of ali. These bolts solve the problem: insert in channel and tighten a nut to secure then attach your ali section with a second nut. "A very useful long bolt with nut"
Good quality long cropped head bolts, going to use them for securing the greenhouse internal shading as I find the plastic fittings of all types pretty useless as they just slip on the aluminium sections. The bolts can be secured in position with the nut and a washer (not supplied) and the shading pushed over the bolt and retained with a nut. Easy to fit the shading and easy to replace / remove. Perfect for when building a greenhouse
All greenhouse manufacturers supply square headed nuts with their products. If you fail to slide the exact number of bolts into the slots before assembling the greenhouse, it means unbolting sections of it in order to slide another bolt in. With these cropped headed bolts, they allow you to insert these bolts, straight into the slots and then twisting them to fully grip into the slots. Without any extra work.
