The name seems a bit odd, really, I mean, an "ENVY" printer? Should people "envy" it? Aside from the sketchy model name, this thing is brilliant. WiFi sets up easily, also uses USB. Paper feeds smoothly and it scans and copies and prints. Still, haven't figured out if it will do envelopes or not, but that would be useful. Small spring loaded paper catch support pops out when it is given a printout to do and then easily pushes back in. This should keep it from being bumped into and damaged. This is a seriously good printer. Does photos, as well and has a power saving mode. Nice.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Unlike Mary Poppins, this HP is absolutely awful, in every way. Print speed is hilarious, colors are faded and bleed, asked to "realigned" EVERY PRINT. Went through THREE (not exaggerating) cartridges after opening the printer brand new just to align and clean nozzles...now after all that, it prints WORSE then before. I've been forced to print in all black-and-white, which bleeds on the paper. I've never had printer issues before, this is just awful beyond imagination.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I ordered this printer because of the attractive price. It is much, much better than I expected. It can print color pictures of good quality and the normal print is clear and of good quality. It is also very easy to set up and use right away. I am 79 yrs old and not very computer literate and I had the printer ready to use in just a few minutes. I would recommend this printer to anyone. Good value, easy to set-up, limited features..
Returned printer because it was unable to send/receive faxes. Small capacity of ink cartridges practically assures enrollment in HP automatic ink resupply program. Less expensive than retail cost for those who use a large quantity of ink. Happy Printing Again
When my old all-in-one printers printhead needed replacing it cost more then just buying a whole new all-in-one printer. Started doing research online and found this HP seemed to fit the bill. Got a great price by shopping around and am extremely happy with this purchase. Decent printer for the money
Decent printer, can print easily via Wifi from CPU and phone. However, its paper tray is not great because the paper curls up while and after printing, but doesn't do any damage to document. Although, if I'm not in the same room the paper falls on the floor after printing more than a page at a time. At first, it was very quiet but at times its makes some weird sounds, especially after intial paper jam. But on screen instructions are great for clearing paper jam. Good print quality. Very good value. Had same problem others had in installing. When arriving at the question to set up "instant ink program" when selecting "no", setup locks up. I wanted to hook up to my I pad and desktop MAC. Finally called an expert who couldn't figure it out.
The only way we were able to make it work was to click the option to buy their ink. Basically it would not allow set up without first agreeing to an automatic ink plan. When we agreed the auto ink plan everything worked. It basically does everything it advertises which is more than I really need but I wanted the wireless connection so I guess you just have to go to an air printer. I do like the idea that it prints on both sides of paper with very little effort. I have a lot to learn but I tend to learn as I go. When I need it i'll figure it out. HP Envy 5540 is a Dynamic, Super Inkjet Printer!
I must state that I've had many home printers but this is by far, a Favorite among them. Quick start-up, I print with Ease from all 3 of my devices!
