Solves Series III with servo brake light problem
Series III trucks with a brake servo have an odd brake light problem, apparently caused by the strange design with the little flap that the pedal moves, which in turn moves the switch button. As I came to understand it, this only works well with an OEM brake light switch, and with any other switch, aftermarket types, etc. the brake light will soon fail. In the case of this failure you'll have trouble determining the cause, as all elements of the system will function, but you will not be able to adjust the switch to function properly. So if you have a Series III with brake servo replace your brake light switch with this one, this is the proper part number 575166, and is an OEM one. It will fix your problem. I only did this repair recently so I have not yet found out how long the repair will last. It could be, that every so often, this switch will need to be replaced.
