The Edirol FA´66 was my favourite in the good old firewire times: small footprint but great in ports. 6 in and outputs, analogue rca and trs, digital (optical), 2 combo tsr/xlr. Then, in 2014, neither MAC nor Windows provided genuine firewire ports anymore. So I sold my fa-66. Recently I got an old HP Elitebook 8730w from 2009. And yes, it has a firewire port, but the Ricoh chip won't connect to audio interfaces, at least not in Debian Linux (FFADO). So, for less than 10m Pounds I bought a cardbus with Firewire ports (Ebay) And violà: the fa-66 is working again. My DAW at the moment is Ardour.
