Too many short cuts
We bought two for our community garden project.
For the price they represent good value however there are some issues.
Admittedly we are operating them towards the limits of their declared operational limits. However not beyond!
NEGATIVES:
The manual does not provide enough performance related data and fails to cover in detail all the pumps 'objects'. ie the red 'bleed' nuts ... what are they, why and how are they used?
The threaded fittings , made of plastic, soon wear and leak . Some unessesarily are comprised of multiple connecting pieces adding to the complexity and risk of leaks. Far too easy to vertighten fittings. Far too easy to damage the plastic threads.
The suction pipe is too regid ... retains a tight coil that can easily split when straightened ....
As yet we have been unable to run the units with the filter fitted when drawing water from around 8 meters.
PLUS:
When operating the units drawing from water butts or pond .. they perform well.
Nicely designed the performance to cost ration is excellent when you compare to the cost of similar performing commercial pumps.
Easy to handle and stow away.
Low price tag
In our opinion would be best fitted into a perminent position where the minimum of srewing and unscrewing is nessesary.
A much longer suction pipe should be an option.
Bespoke snap on fittings similar to Hozelock should be considerd for all connections.
