AL-KO 38E - Powerful and effective Scarifier
The scarifier was easy to assemble and exchanging the cartridges between the blade unit and its spring pronged counterpart was simple and straightforward. I have used this scarifier with both cartridges. It is very effective and quickly removes moss and matted, trampled grass - just be careful to start off with the scarifier set at the highest position to get calibrated. The collector bin capacity is better than I thought but the quality of the bin material is very flimsy so that I noticed about 5 or 6 of holes in it already after a single use. This is likely to have been caused by the machine brushing against a low spreading shrub while being used but nevertheless it is a surprise and disappointing for equipment of this quality and price. I should point out that the shrub was not thorny. Would I recommend it? With the exception of the quality of the collector bin, the machine is well built and robust. It is powerful and works well. However I have real concerns about the longevity of the bin.

useful but some small improvements needed.
Does what it is designed for, Nice wide strips speeds up time needed to cover the area. Slightly fussy assemble but OK Need to make sure grass is prperly dry before use. Poor instruction about how to change from rake to Slitter. Could come with a better way of securely storing rake or slitter whichever is not in use. Excellent Scarifier
Was a bit more expensive than i wanted to pay but i am very happy i bought it, the metal blades do a fantastic job and it works far better than any other i have tried with the springs although this has those as well, would recommend definitely, could have done with more detailed instructions to put together but worked it out in the end, would benefit with instructions on how to use and in what situation but you can google to find out moreVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
