Decent quality tool
No problems, used to dig trenches in glass, rock and root ridden soil. Sturdy, needs a bit of oil on the screw. Not flimsy. Decent bit of kit.

Winter car fallback
Bought this as a tuck it in the car hoping never to need it. Folds up small enough to tuck away in the corner of the boot. Seems sturdy enough to deal with a get you out of trouble in the snow and heavy enough to break up compacted road snow ice so you can get a grip.

Good, solid shovel that packs up really small
This is a very solid spade. The mechanism is cleverly designed, resulting in a solid connection when deployed, but allows it to be folded up quite small. I bought this to keep in our motorhome, in case we get stuck. It is small enough to be tucked away in a box and strong enough to dig out any sunken wheels. The serrated edge is not at all sharp, though that dopesn't bother me - I bought it to dig things out, not cut them.
