    Bean slicer

It is reasonably good value for money. There are 8 blades so the beans get sliced very finely. Unfortunately the blades are a bit flimsy and not embedded very securely so there is a tendency for them to bow out of shape when fatter beans are inserted. The blades could possibly work loose eventually. But for the price it's a risk worth taking!

    Chefs aid bean slicer

Very difficult to push the beans through so ended up slicjng them with a knife. Maybe blades were not sharp enough. Sorry but not happy with this product

  • Maybe I was the unlucky recipient of this product, because the other one (of two) was okay.

I ordered two Bean Slicers ,one was as ordered, but the other after opening and inspecting carefully, was found to be defective . ie. the 5 - 'slicing' metal 'knives' incorporated for slicing which are moulded into the plastic body ,the centre one had been moulded in a flat position instead of vertical ,which made the item totally unuseable .

  • quick and efficient

I bought this bean slicer to replace a similar old one that I have had for decades. It is a perfect replacement, quick easy to use and no fiddly bits to wash! An excellent product would highly recommend.

  • Beans need to be really stiff to work well

Item O/K, but beans need to be really stiff/firm for this item to work at it's best. Otherwise with floppy beans they just bend and will not go through the blades.

  • blunt metal slates do not do job

This was a massive disappointment ,it looked exactly the same as my old one but is blunt! So disappointed just used a knife instead!

  • Not good for long

Great for first couple of times using it but then it doesn’t work very well. Have given up and slicing beans by hand 😐

  • Hopeless

We have a prodigious harvest of runner beans this year and needed something to slice them. This is not up to the job. Any bean wider than about 8mm simply pushes apart the blades and the beans will neither get sliced or even go through. After a dozen beans the blades are twisted apart. The Krisk one is not as wide but at least it works.

  • Weak bean slicer

The metal strands on this bean slicer as too weak and bend when cutting through the bean so that the slices are not even. Not a good as the previous one I had many years ago.

  • Would not bother

I bought this as a replacement for my trusty ‘years old’ one. Opened it, used it once (which struggled to slice my new crop runners) and threw it in the bin. My old one did a better job, despite its age.
