great for measuring the height of trees.
This is an outstanding laser measure. The reason so many are available on eBay is because of the recall / flaw with the "stakeout" feature, but I don't use that feature. I love the "indirect double" measurement feature. I can aim at the bottom and top of any object and it tells me the height. This is great for measuring the height of trees. of course, if the tree is over 50 feet, you will have a hard time during daylight, but if you wait until dusk, measurements are much easier outside.

Great Laser Measurer
Great laser measurer, especially the green laser. Makes it easier to see where you are pointing at. Only dislike is the manual, very difficult to figure out all the features using pictograms on one page and definitions located on another page several pages further in the manual. Also would prefer the manual in one language instead of 4, makes for a thick manual with lots of wasted pages in languages I don't need.

Laser measure better than average, Bosch app needs work.
The GLM165-27CG is a bit pricier than the 27C but easier to see the green laser in brighter lighting than the red laser. I’ve measured >75’ outdoors in full sunlight but your mileage may vary. Bluetooth connectivity works well with multiple apps. The free Bosch provided Measure On app is OK but its promised cloud function hasn’t been deployed in US yet so your projects are stuck in your smart device although it will export to PDF, etc.

Way better then I expected
Before I bought this laser tape measure, I bought 2 way more expensive “smart” tape measures. Both were terrible. Had very low expectations for this tape measure. I was wrong, this Bosch laser tape measure is a game changer, and the app is pretty easy to learn too.
