Notes'Under the Willow Tree' is an all-new collection for 2012 of original piano and guitar solos by composer / pianist / guitarist, David Templeton. These 14 songs (almost a full hour of music) were first performed at David's debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2011. This is his 6th album in a string of successful releases starting in 1985 with 'Time Alone', which was recorded live at the Seattle Paramount Theater. David has been described by the New Yorker Magazine as "One of the most accomplished and original new talents to hit the keyboards... thoroughly enjoyable." Of his new album, David says, 'This is some of my richest and most emotionally satisfying music that I've ever composed. I wrote these songs during a five year period when I experienced many different trials and adventures and I think you can hear the variety of feelings, tempos and styles reflected in this recording'. Although the album is a rich tapestry of mostly classically flavored piano and guitar solos, 'Under the Willow Tree' is the first CD in the collection of albums by Templeton to also feature original piano blues compositions. There's a definite artistic flow and pleasing song order to this album that will keep you engaged from beginning to end.
