REALLY WANTED FOR THIS TO BE AMAZING!...
An insanely talented cast with a script that really disappoints. Appaloosa starts off really cool but then the movie quickly just fizzles down to a bunch of endless talking and not a whole lot of high western adventure. The new sheriff and his deputy should've been in constant action and stopping bad guys left and right to clean up the town. They just sat in town and looked down the street for most of this movie. Appaloosa - Robert B Parker series
I bought this movie because I read a book by Robert B. Parker (author of the famed Spenser PI series.) On the front of the book was a sticker that said "Now a major motion picture," so I looked for the movie. The book was extremely good with engaging characters and a great plot. I only hoped that the movie would be half as good. Well...it was better! Strong characters, strong plot, followed the book perfectly. Ed Harris was PERFECT in the role of Virgil Cole.
