Terrible quality - live mites found in bedding.
Paid £11 for 2kg of this aspen bedding for my Syrian hamster so expected good quality for the price, but this unfortunately was not the case. When I was adding the bedding to his cage, the scent was so strong that it felt like it was getting into mine and my partners’ throats so I’m sure it would’ve caused discomfort for our hamster too. I also found live mites running around in the bedding - we have never previously had a problem with mites with any other beddings. £11 wasted, as we had to put all the bedding in the bin due to its terrible quality. Great stuff for my furry friends
Really struggled to find best stuff for my gerbils, so having googled it I decided to try this. Very glad I did. Works out cheaper than buying the dust extracted sawdust, and is much nicer for the gerbils. Very soft, with nice smell, no dust at all, creates nice warm habitat. Used one bag to fill a 5 ft by 2ft tank up to a height of 12" so provided lots of burrowing space. I will use this stuff all the time now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This aspen is perfect substrate for my large collection of kingsnakes and cornsnakes. It is a great quality at a great price that will be hard to beat. Works out far cheaper than the small bags found in most petstores. For a happy snake

Aspen substrate
On first appearance this seemed good, not as much as I expected but after inspection I realized it's compacted so will definitely expand! Does have that familiar aspen smell but doesn't have the look. I am exited to use it and I'm sure my hamster's will love it as it is soft unlike other wood shavings.
