This set is very good value for money and the quality is better than I expected for the price. Ok it's not full engineering machine shop quality but for occasional use on DIY projects it can get you out of a jam. Fit & finish not great
Fit & finish leaves a lot to be desired as the tap wrench (chuck type) is useless (mine went in the bin). Fortunately, I already have a wrench that serves this purpose. The die holder is excellent and holds dies firmer than others I have tried. I also like the metal box rather than the usual plastic that comes with sets of this price. So, for me, it was good value. However, I wouldn't recommend it because it requires an alternative tap wrench to the one supplied and purchasing a separate wrench would take it out of the 'good value' bracket. For this reason, I cannot describe the kit as 'good quality'. The taps and dies are fine so, if you have a spare tap wrench or some other means of holding the taps, you can make a reasonable saving.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great starter kit
I’d been putting off repairing my splash shield to my Ford Escape/Maverick xlt for awhile now,unfortunately the original fixings had deteriorated so much that when I tried to access the engine they snapped off so I’d been using plastic rivets,anyway 100 rivets later I finally got round to buying a tap and die set and was very surprised how easy it was to use (always remember to thread a 7mm hole you need a 6mm drill bit) my only gripes were that the handles of the thread making drill bit (Tap) stood out to proud making it hard to keep parallel while turning a thread in a confined space ,the sump under each thread bit in the box could of had the number of the bit too so as to put back in correct place, I also found the tools themselves abit brittle but for £20 I say it was a great starter kitVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

I thought US.PRO was supposed to be an OK brand for tools and this set seems to have ok reviews, well I was disappointed in the quality of this tap set to say the least. The M10 x1.25 tap especially did not have the manufacturing burs removed before it was hardened so was completely unusable.
