  • Easy to apply with good coverage

The stabilising solution is easy to brush on the wall. It soaks into the plaster well and you can see where it has already been applied. Forms a protective coat on the surface without being sticky. Does not smell obnoxious at all. Need to be careful not to add too much to the brush at once - runs quickly. Goes further than I expected.

  • Better than expected

Thought I'd try this to stabilise my badly weathered rendered and painted house wall before winter. Surprised to find it's water-based and didn't expect much, but after scraping off the loose paint it hardened the good paint and completely sealed the sandy surface of the bare render. I've only ever used the white spirit based solutions before and this is just as good and way cheaper -also didn't glue my fingers together. Have given it a couple of coats of masonry paint now and all looks good.

  • Easy to use and penetrates well

Having painted the rendered surfaces of my new raised beds five years ago, the damp penetration from inside the beds ultimately caused the masonry paint to peel and flake off in patches, despite me using a diluted priming coat. I therefore jet-washed off as much of the loose paint as I could and then treated the surface with this stabilising solution. It was very quick and easy to use, and I am hopeful that this will create a stronger bond to the render than the masonry paint alone achieved. I will know in another five years!

  • Worked well on my dusty render

I was dubious regarding the cost of this product compared with other branded prep treatments. but knowing Sika owns everbuild and their products are spot on I took the pint. My situation was a flaking bubbling paint on a rendered wall that was very sandy, so sandy it would rub off as you rubbed it. We started to peel the old paint as best we could leaving the most stubborn parts as we didn’t want to dig to much at the render. Then we applied two coats of this Everbuild 406 stabilising solution split a day a apart. Render was solid as a rock. Two coats of Dulux Weathershield textured and bingo it looks fantastic I did find I used a lot of the stabiliser and I had to get more to finish the section I was doing but it was worth every penny. First coat soaked straight in where as second went further I’d recommend this product and buying from this seller made it more cost effective than certain big trade chains..

  • Quality stabiliser

I always apply this stabiliser to anything I work on outside(brick, render etc). It’s surprising how surfaces suck this in,so is well worth using, especially prior to painting or filling and also bonds powdery brick mortar together nicely, and doesn’t take long to apply.

  • Ever build 406

Inexpensive masonry stabiliser is easy to use and does what it says on the label. Only time will tell how good it is.

Ordered on the Saturday and received on the Monday which was before expected arrival. I used this to stabilize a couple of walls that i had removed Artex from, it did an excellent job.

  • Everbuild 406 STABILISING SOLUTION

First time used this brand. Required two good soakings via sprayer. When dry, run over after with a piece of soft rubber or similar to remove surface grit. A lot will also depend on state of prepared surface.

  • Fit for purpose

The product is fit for purpose, but time will tell. It just looks like and acts like water. The only problem for me was opening the cap to the point where I was using plyers!
