  • Lightweight quality hatchet

The axe head steel has been professionally made and heat treated by a renowned Swedish axe maker. The shaft is of high quality hickory and shaped for use at full length or held mid length.. With free postage it is only a little more expensive than cheaper hatchets of unknown quality.. I do have other axes and hatchets for comparison and I recommend this hatchet.

  • Sharp

Came really sharp, which is a good thing, comes with a small sheath that fits the over the end of the axe, doesn't fit that well, a bit loose, you could actually slip it off without undoing the clasp, I soaked mine in water and let dry which shrunk it a little, so it now fits that little bit better, the handle came quite rough, (might just be mine) needs sanding, but all in all I'm happy with it, it's a good make, one thing though, it's a wee bit heavier than expected if your doing a lot of chopping with one hand I can see it being tiring, not used mine yet but looking forward to doing so.

  • Well made, compact and versatile.

Great little axe that can take care of many jobs. I find it ideal for splitting small logs into kindling, and it's small and light enough to take hiking/camping. You could probably fell a small tree with relative ease. Good quality axe, with a nice hand feel, and should bé good for many years of use.

  • Awesome Medium Axe

Awesome Medium Axe. Big enough to have sufficient chopping power, and small enough for a one-handed operation. Handle was a bit rough, easy to fix with sandpaper. Edge profile was okay, sharp enough to use right out of the box.

  • Well made quality axe.

This is a high quality well made axe and it will easily last for years, it’s very sharp and available to use straight away. The only gripe I have is that it is quite heavy if you are using it single handed for a long time it can start to feel heavy, however it is well placed to chop up sticks as well as using it two handed to cut up small logs, I really do like it and would recommend it, however I am now tempted to buy the next size down as well to chop up kindling over a long period of time without my arm aching.

  • You get what you pay for

I tried a couple of cheap axes and had to return them, poor edges, bad handles, badly weighted. No issues with this axe, the head was sharp and nicely weighted, the handle is slightly longer than most which means you can use it one or two handed. The edge was sharp and has remained sharp after several weeks of use. You only buy one axe so buy the best buy a Hultafors.

  • My Hultafors axe arrived today

Fantastic quality very well made And also sharp enough to use right away. I’ve no complaints with the axe the handle just needed a little sandpapering to make it smooth. I feel that a more substantial axe mask would have made it a perfect purchase. It was very loose and flimsy

  • Axe Master!

I have a Fiskars splitting axe (which is ruddy ace btw) and I was after a more traditional axe for kindling and taking to the woods. This axe was cheap. £31 or so. I spent £15 on a cheap hatchet, but this already feels like a more capable tool. Easily worth more, i think. The Gransfors etc are probably nicer, but way more expensive. I had to sharpen it up a bit, but it is lovely to use pretty much straight away. Great for splitting logs into kindling, trimming branches (green), and then also great for short-handle work. Wanted a swedish ponce axe, and got one for a low price. Get one!

  • Great hatchet

A bit heavier than I expected but means it can help with some of slightly bigger tasks around the garden too. Handle came a little rough but quickly sorted with a rub down with some sandpaper. Leather sheath has a cut/opening where the blade meets it when housed, but wife has promised to sow this 😅. A great quality item. Would definitely buy again but expect it’ll last me a lifetime!

  • Reliable axe with typically high quality Scandinavian craftsmanship evident

I don't know much about axes, but purchased this one based on watching reviews on You Tube. I own a Karesuando bushcrafting knife & was hoping that the axe would be of similar Scandinavian craftsmanship & quality. The tool has met my expectations so far. The blade is very sharp & appears to be forged from high quality steel. I bought the item to construct a rustic shelter I am impressed with its performance so far.
