Driver’s side instructions did not work on early T5
The passenger side fitted well following the instructions however the driver’s side, being a different shaped door, did not. I found that the lower edge was too tight against the bodywork. By repositioning this part of the seal in a similar position to the passenger side it was fine. I recommend thoroughly cleaning the whole are prior to fitting in case of problems. If you wish to check the seal is in contact with the body then dust it with talc and check the door frame for a continuous thin white line after closing and reopening it. Alternatively close the door against a newspaper and check the tension when pulled out (making sure it’s not caught on the inner seal).

Great upgrade for my van
Really surprised as to the difference this makes. The reduction in road noise in the cab makes for a more relaxing ride. The radio can now be played at a lower volume and conversations with anybody in the back is now a lot easier. When shutting the door the noise now sounds like a normal car. The only down side is you need a little more pressure to ensure the door closes properly which you soon get used to. Simple pleasures
Just came across this product while researching the many ways of spending money on a T5 and thought it sounded good. Quick delivery, easy to install, (literally a five minute job) and the effect it has is incredible, so much so that I spent more than a few minutes opening and closing the door just to hear the difference. Sounds of silence (almost)
I'd seen mixed reviews on various similar products but having used another X8R product thought this seal was worth a punt. Even tho my van doors had been sound deadened there was still that horrible typical T5 rattly noise on closing the cab doors. Well, for a few quid and a few minutes of my time, this seal has fixed that - don't know about comparison to a Golf but it certainly is on a par with any half decent car door. Too early to comment on durability but the quality is there so hopefully it'll last - but at the price I wouldn't hesitate to replace with the same should I need to. Couple of pointers: a) seen some reports of water collecting inside the seal - my fix was to shape the seal ends to the door shape then superglue the open ends of the seal shut. b) one door required just a little more effort to close fully, not slamming it tho - suspect this will ease as the seal settles in/compresses with use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Amazing bit of kit
Took me about 20 mins to get a perfect fit, used hairdryer to warm the rubber and the van door. The difference in the door closing sound is fantastic, it sounded terrible before, now sounds quality. Great quality seals
I am extremely happy with this product. Really good quality seal upgrade. Although my seals had perished you could feel the quality in these straight away. The only issue I had was taking the old seal off. Once cleaned, with the wipes provided, the new seals went on without any fuss and fitted like a dream. Plus I was sent enough to cover both front doors. It's a good product at a good price. Easy to fit - make sure the area is very clean beforehand. I had read that it made door closure sound like a Golf and that there was less wind noise while driving after fitting this. Door closure does feel more solid and sounds a bit less 'tinny', but it still sounds like a van.
