Dewalt hammer/impact 20v xr (2x) 5ah batt.
Excellent drill set. Been using for years. this upgrade to the xr series makes me wish I had alot sooner. The first selectable speed on the impact is perfect for drywall and wood, doesn't keep spinning, it just stops on it's own. Third setting is one speed higher than the non xr model goes. It's like overdrive. Rusted truck bolts, thick stainless, you name it. The hammer has an adjustable light underneath your hand grip, for different time settings. Super bright! These 5ah batteries are what sold me on this set. They are a must have. No more getting stuck on a roof with a dying battery, or carrying two small batteries around with you everywhere you go. The tools are great, but the charging unit is useless for me living in Thailand where there is no 120VAC power. Dewalt Engineers need to consider this
The impact driver and drill/hammer are very good. However, the charging unit is only good for 120VAC. I have other charging units that are rated 100-240VAC that are much more desirable, since I am in Thailand, I have to order another charging unit before i can use the tools. It would be a great improvement if the charging units that come with tools were usable for the 100-240VAC range. I was very disappointed that I have to wait another 2 weeks to get the proper charging unit before I can use the tools.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Simply great
Performance is great so far and the design is beyond practical especially with the flash light feature. Its worth the price i won it for. But i feel with this package the maker should have included a starter set of bits and tips perhaps. Nevertheless the tools are great and durability is a plus granted i don’t plan on abusing them. That reminds i wish the carry case had designed compartment for small bits and tips storage 😔. I love the weight on this one, far less fatigue plus power of the tools are undeniable. Better than expected
Much more power here than I expected for the price. The battery seems to stay charged forever and the recharge time if quick. The electronic clutch is much more useful than the traditional mechanical clutch, not to mention less annoying. You can really dial the clutch in to what you want and it repeats the performance consistently. The hammering motion is better than I expected for this type of hammer drill and the impact strength is way stronger than I expected for this size of impact drill. Just what I expected.

I own a Dewalt 9.6V drill/driver (DW944) circa 1993. I still have it and it still works great. Bought the 20V MAX XR as I have a need for a hammer drill and impact drill. I also wanted to get into the new Lithium-Ion batteries. This kit fit the bill and it was priced right. I've only had the drills for a week now and so far everything is as I expected from Dewalt. Charged the batteries and I'm good to go. Things I like - feels right in my hand - lightweight - lights - quality - power.
