Impressive
I had thought about the merits of a battery powered chainsaw every time I tried to start my old petrol model, and finally took the plunge with the DeWalt. It is amazing; quiet, powerful, quick to start (instant!), and easily the measure of my McCulloch and on a par with the neighbours Stihl for speed of cut. Battery life is well beyond expectation and charging was quick during a lunch break. I guess if this was to be used all day as a professional tool then the battery life may be an issue, but for all other applications I cannot fault it. (buy one before the end of October 2020 and there is a second battery free from DeWalt when you register the product - as well as a three year guarantee). The attached pictures were all done on one charge...

Better than petrol in so many ways.
An outstanding chainsaw in many ways: by far the easiest-to-clean electric saw I've owned; more power than any mid-range petrol saw I've owned and hasn't stalled cutting the toughest hardwood; good torque throughout battery duration; surprisingly light too; excellent bar length for the kind of work I do (mainly coppicing birch & willow). Brilliant chainsaw without the fumes
WOW! This thing will cut through anything & lasts. It cut down around 20 trees, each around 15cm-25cm (6"-10") in diameter & around 6m (20') tall in one hit without breaking a sweat (but I did)! Mega 9Ah 54v FlexVolt battery charges in just over an hour & lasts as long as you can without taking a break. If you've got the stamina, maybe thing about getting a second battery, but for mere mortals, one's plenty. A very good chainsaw. I use it for cutting long logs into lengths suitable for the trailer. The speed of the chain at 15 m/s and the comparative quietness are great features. Lightweight and does the jobs you need to do easily
We have a petrol chainsaw which we have used over the years but this one is an absolute marvel. Low noise and fresh air
