Still seems the best!
Bought this one to replace a same 8 year old one that had 'retired'. The new one has an easier front access to the battery compartment & now uses a single square type battery like found in a lot of smoke detectors. It also fits the old backing screwed to wall so no need to fit new one! There's been a lot of bad feedback about this latest model developing fause alarms etc so fingers crossed this is a good one like my last one! Not as good as I thought .....
One unit does both checks. CO & smoke. Seemed to work well - Tested it in garage after starting car! Removed to clear air and reset after 5 mins. Very sensible & easy battery fitting. We are using it on a boat so the only downside is the size - it's pretty hefty - and rather 'in your face'! 2022 update. Alarm died , new battery, sounds every few mins. 10 yr warranty ....if I paid postage .... An £18:00 Smoke and Carbon Dioxide Alarm Might Save Your Life !
If you cooking with Gas or have an Open Gas fire (real fire effect) then you should really have a device like this. It might just save your life! This device was to replace a 8 year old Kiddie Smoke and Carbon monoxide alarm that had reached the end of its life... letting me know with a little "chirp" every 10 mins. It has never given a false alarm except when bonfire smoke got in to the house. I have not set fire to toast the smoke alarm I had before Kiddie used to go off if the toast became burnt. Wath i was loocking for!!
I wanted this for my mobile home. Its important to be safe, and as a bonus i got two products in one! Less holdes to drill, and needs less space:) I love gadgets, and this product has high quality, and i like that it has a speaking voice alsoe, not onely sirens!! On top of thath you alsoe have an indicator that will say its time to replace it after 10years! Im wery happy with this product and price! In Norway i was not able to get a simmilar product....!! Compact and useful
Bought for our caravan so it's more compact than 2 separates, there is an alarm sound as well as a voice telling you if it is sounding for fire or carbon monoxide and a replaceable battery which lots of alarms don't have these days. Ideal as a new/replacement unit.
Bought this to replace the older model which I had for 10 years and needed to be changed. The newer model is better because it doesn't have to be taken down to change batteries as it has a front compartment for a 9v battery. Also the new until fits into the bracket/holder of the older alarm, so there was no drilling etc, just a straight swap, old for new. Very pleased with the new unit. Loud and audible, better design
Bought it to replace the same make which was past it's use by date. Easy to fit, (same bracket as the old one) just twist it in. Battery much better design as it's on the front of the alarm and easier to replace. Tests well but fortunately never had an occasion when it needed to sound.
