Great Halogen Oven
Bought this as a replacement for a similar Von Chef halogen oven which broke down after several years of constant use. I had a Cookshop one prior to that. This latest Cookshop oven has had a few design tweaks which are an improvement. This Cookshop oven seems to take longer to cook than my previous Von Chef but as the Von Chefs are way over £100 these days, this one is just fine. The manual controls are straightforward to use. The best thing about this halogen oven is the hinged lid. Nearly all the other (slightly cheaper) makes come with a 'lift off' lid which has to be removed and placed on a separate lid stand. Never liked the idea of that, sounds highly dangerous when hot! Halogen ovens are a great way to cook. Ours is used daily. The only drawback is that they use a LOT of electricity. Although they have thermostatic controls, a halogen oven uses way more electricity than any other household appliance I can think of.
