Works well.
I had a different brand of ‘faraday’ pouch for my previous car, a Nissan Juke, which worked well to block the keyless entry signal. On changing to a Toyota c-hr, which I guess uses different frequencies, that pouch no longer blocked the signal. This Defender one does the job perfectly. There are two parts and the protected part is big enough to fit my keys inside, my key ring having the fairly bulky Toyota key fob, 2 Yales, one Chubb and a usb stick on it. Does not work on all keys. Be Careful!
We purchased two pouches for our Volvo V60 (2014). The car has a proximity key. (Car purchased from new pouches purchased shortly afterwards). When the keys to the V60 are in the pouch you can walk up to the car and it will not open. Great the pouch works. Based on this, when we changed the second car to a Volvo XC90 (2018), we were happy to purchase a Faraday Pouch. Again this car has a proximity key. With this car however the key can be in the pouch and the car will open at a distance. Thinking that it was a problem with just this pouch we tested the XC90 key with the V60 pouch. The new pouch jammed the v60 signal and the doors of that car would not open. The XC90 opened with the key in the old pouch. We have had both positive and negative results. We would be happy to talk to the manufacturer to test a new pouch for the XC90 if they wish. The pouch itself is well made and has no wear issue with daily use. We have three pouches and the two V60 keys fit in the one pouch. The pouch can be sealed as per the instructions and works well with two inserted. I bought two of these pouches and for the price i wasn't expecting much. I have a car and a motorbike that both has fobs so i placed the two fobs in each pouch and stood right against the car then the bike. Good Stuff - Get one of these as others are not as good.
It actually works. I just got my brand new disabled car - I use it when i go shopping because you don't No who is hanging around (I have one for my purse too) and i tried and tested it. This is a nifty little product. After a friend had their car stolen I wasn't prepared to risk mine so invested in a couple of these wallets. Peace Of Mind
I waited a while before reviewing to be fair and I have been quite impressed with how well it works. I bought it for my phone, an average size smart phone and it fits quite easily into the pouch as instructed. I use it all the time much to the annoyance of some of the people who want to contact me. I'm retired and I am not going to spend retirement glued to my phone!!! It makes sense to have the phone with me in case of emergency and placing it into the pouch means I don't have to switch it off, which could potentially waste valuable seconds in an emergency. It really is that good. Just be aware the battery will drain quicker if left switched on in the pouch as it will be working hard to get a signal. I have nothing to hide but I really don't like the snoopability factor that seems to be on the increase! I also don't like the fact that most smartphones are still active even with a flat battery! I also am not keen on constant bombardment of mobile phone energy which gives me quite extreme headaches with overuse.The mobile phone is an absolutely amazing piece of technology but it should be the servant of the user and not the instigator of trawling grounds for online opportunists. The Defender has dealt with all that for me and I have peace of mind in a digital world I just can't keep up with, I'm retired, I've got better things to do! Since I started using it the reduction in the annoying stuff that I'm not browsing for has reduced quite significantly esp. the locationally based sort. It is well made and looks like it will give a good long service. It's very handy and easy to tuck away safely. I sometimes put my swipe cards and car keys in as well so it serves very well to give me that peace of mind that I demand, bearing that in mind it makes it a very reasonable purchase for which I am grateful.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
