Great light up model of Enterprise with outstanding Bandai quality
This is one of the definitive models of the U.S.S. Enterprise refit from Star Trek. This large 1/850 scale model has everything you need to assemble it and light up the ports, nacelles, deflector dish and bridge. I would put it at about a skill level 3; it is not suitable for children without adult assistance due to the complexity of wiring it and the complexity of the instructions to build it. The kit is pre-painted and is essentially snap together construction with some screws needed particularly for the battery compartment assembly. It is a fun and entertaining model to assemble and displays extremely well. I have built several Bandai kits and they generally have very good fit and finish. The directions are in multiple languages which is good, but they are largely pictorial plans with numbered steps. Diagrams are good and clear and easy to follow, and if you have any experience at all building models you will have a satisfying level of challenge and fun putting the Enterprise together. It displays extremely well. Bandai has an outstanding and well-earned reputation for authenticity, attention to detail, quality of manufacture, and generally excellent quality to build and display, and this kit is no exception. Parts are on sprues on trees, it is pre-molded in correct painted colors and markings are already applied. You just wire it and assemble it. I'm guessing if you did it in one sitting it is a 3-4 hour kit to assemble. I would highly recommend the kit if you are a Star Trek fan and can afford one of these kits; this one will run you around $200.00 for a new condition kit at present market prices. I am extremely happy with this kit as I am with the other Bandai lighted replicas I have purchased, and I am sure you will be too. I would strongly urge that you make sure that the kit you purchase is complete and correct, has the instructions, and that the bags are sealed. Pieces don't fit
Beautiful model (if the pieces fit). Everything went well until I began putting together the secondary hull. The pieces that goes inside the secondary hull are too big and I was not able to close the secondary hull, I removed some pieces and it still left a gap.
