Heavy but powerful
Positives: It provides a strong impact. It is easy to use. It seems to be well made. Negatives: It is quite heavy and also large, therefore not particularly useful in tight quarters. It worked very well on a few old tough rusted suspension bolts and it handles 100 lb torqued lug nuts easily. Great delivery time. I was expecting about 5 day wait due to the weekend. So far, so good
I have used the Porter Cable electric impact wrench so far only on one occasion to remove and replace four wheels on a tandem boat trailer, so its long term durability has yet to be demonstrated. At first blush the unit seems to be well made and the torque seems strong and consistent. Repeated use on frozen nuts and bolts will be the acid test, so for me the jury is still out. But so far so good. My original electric impact wrench lasted some 30 years, so my expectations are high.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome Impact Wrench
Just received it today, so I had to try it. First, I went to HF Tools and bought a 1/2” drive 3/4” socket to see how difficult (or easy) it would be to remove s lug nut. Well, it was SUPER easy! So now I’ll be able to easily take the wheels off the car in order to rotate them. No need to pay a mechanic $30 or more to do this, so just that will pay off this tool in no-time.

This wrench is big and powerful. Weighs near 10 lbs which is OK by me as I only do open air jobs (lug nuts) with it. It is not suited for close quarters work. It has busted all I tried it on loose with ease. I only give it 4 stars because the ad on e bay said that it had a variable trigger. Cons... heavy and awkward in tight places. Pros... POWERFUL! Works as advertised, even better! Insulated well, not much of a chance of shock hazard. Rusted nuts should be treated with Liquid wrench or Kroil first because of the power this wrench has would twist them into. Great Impact Wrench for DIY Mechanics
I wanted to wait on writing a review for this product until I used it used it. I of course took it out of the box right away to check and make sure it works, but that was about it. I finally got a chance to really use it in a way that I relied on it to work. I recently made a last minute decision to replace the shock absorbers on one of my cars (got tired of mechanic cancelations). Well let me tell you, this baby worked like a charm. Not only did I use it to take off the lug nuts which made things sooo much easier, I also used it to on the bolts holding the shocks in place. Those things were really on there and not coming off without a fight (I did spray some WD40 on them and let it soak's for like 30min). Without this impact wrench, there was no way I was getting those things off since the suspension is all original and haven't been changed for over 160k miles. I am very impressed with this impact wrench and would tell every DIY mechanic to buy this thing. I hope it lasts because it already paid for itself.
