Only use this syrup for perfect bagels
Tried making bagels with maple syrup, etc., as suggested by many. None tasted like a "real" bagel, the kind I've eaten for 60 years in the NY area. Only this syrup makes bagels taste like the bagels perfected for hundreds of years. Stick to this malt syrup for the great bagel with no after-taste.
