Stands up under test
Its better than other products as it does not bend or break under pressure to remove weeds. It only removes the weed but does not have the discharge feature that some of the newer weed remover products on the market have. The true upside is that it does not bend or break under pressure to remove weeds as I experienced using the supposed metal shafted design with discharge mechanism. Too many Buck for too little pull
I owned one once before. I bought a new one with confidence. I was disappointed. The name is the same but the design different. Most notable is that the fingers inserted in the ground are too long. Trying to pivot the pull over the thing's thumb is near impossible because of the distance from the finger tips to the ground. I'm thinking of going to a machine shop and having it modified. I may cut as much as 1-1/2 inches off of the fingers. Costs too much for a lack of serviceability.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The weedeater for grandpa
First off, mine broke a part of a tine the first time I used it. I may have got one with a bad casting. Only about an inch or so broke off and it still worked well on weeds like dandelions and others that the roots spread out. Stab it in and pull back on the handle and the weeds come out! It is that simple. However, it does NOT work well on things like small trees that have a long tap root. It does not grasp them well and it is not strong enough to break them loose, but I guess they are really not weeds, are they?Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice quality weeding tool that helps eliminate back pain and arm strain
I'm impressed with the products simplicity, quality and ease of use. I purchased this after getting some tendonitis and lower back pain from pulling too may weeds. Grandpa's Weeder eliminates most of the pulling and bending over. While it does a great job on small and medium sized weeds, it doesn't always get up the larger crab grass clumps. It will eliminate the center of the crab grass clump, but some pulling may be needed to get the rest of the grass out. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dandy for removing dandelions!

A really great tool! I've been pulling those buggar boo weeds now for days and days. A really fun thing to do with G'Pa's weeder. I really enjoy the "crunch" sound as the weed gets extracted. Somany weeds go to their doom and into the trash every day. A well made tool that takes on the tuffest weeds that have the most tenashiest root system is the G'Pa's weeder. In fact when I am out grocery shopping and I see those pesky weeds growing in front of the grocery store, I think I wish I had G'Pa's weeder so I could pull those icky weeds also! Hint: Read the instructions it comes with with how it works. LOL. Once you get that, and it's easy, it works really well. But not in very wet ground, you can't get the leverage.
