BUY This One!!!
After searching all the choices out there for an inexpensive electric log splitter, I picked this one and hoped for the best. WOW, was I ever shocked at how solidly built, sturdy, and easy to use this thing is!!! Only a dozen bolts to put the stand together, splitting logs is MUCH easier standing at waist height... sturdy stand too. The controls are VERY conveniently located and simple - one NICE BIG GREEN button to hold and one full size control lever to push down. Smooth hydraulic action split large rounds easily. PLUS the tray catches the splits so no bending down to pick them up. GENIUS! Plate is made of very thick steel. This thing looks like it will last me literally FOREVER... especially since I'm splitting only one or two cords each year. If you do your research you will find that this is the smallest model wood splitter made by this company which makes LOTS of GIANT commercial level splitters ... the same solid product mentality went into this one! So, before you spend $200 on some off-brand electric wood splitter, spend the extra $70 and get one made by an industrial equipment manufacturer that includes a sturdy waist height stand and a catch tray/plate. Solid, easy to use but I thought it would split 10" diameter logs. Reliable at 7" diameter.
Maybe I read it wrong but it doesn't split logs with a 10" diameter. It's great with 7" and less diameter logs. Assembles in 20 minutes with 2 people. Easy to use. Fairly easy to move on non smooth ground.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
