Well built, excellent price, multifunctional cleaner for all floor types and also for upholstery
I was very happy with the purchase price of this product. I primarily bought it for the purpose of upholstery cleaning. I have found that on occasion, my older male dog has gone in the house by raising his leg on the loveseat or recliner in our living room. In addition, I have found him marking his territory when we have foster puppies we are raising for adoption. All of our floors are stained concrete with the exception of our playroom upstairs and a small area rug in the living room. After we had guests over who slept upstairs with a small white dog, we had our carpet cleaned since it had been a year and there was a musty odor upstairs. We used a Groupon and received a good deal for the initial cleaning but, they then tagged on an extra $350 for urine removal!! With the price of that one session, we could have purchased three of these! I will update this once I physically use it. I love this product!!!!
This has got to be the best carpet cleaner that I've ever owned. The solution tank can hold a good amount of water and cleaning solution so you don't have to keep filling up the tank every few minutes. Plus, the water section is separate than the cleaning solution. This is great if you want to rinse your carpets without having to put on more cleaning solution. The water/solution tank is secured down by a clasp on the handle, while the bottom of the tank has little guides to help hold the tank in place. Even if you knock down the carpet cleaner, the tank won't pop off. The dirt tank is what makes this product awesome. The dirt tank has a handle on the back with a pour hole located on top, making this very easy to empty. The tank can be opened in half making it easy to clean. There are no little plastic crevices that dirt or hair could be trapped. Just use soap and water to clean it. There is a plastic clamp on the bottom of this tank that holds keeps it secure to the machine. This model comes with a built in blower/heater to help speed up drying times. Pretty Good and reliable so far
I chose the Hoover because of Amazon reviews were solid and Ebay had a great price versus the competitor of Hoover ( bissell). I am very satisfied with the quality of the product, it is a little heavy and little louder than a vacuum. But honestly it did work great. I think it cleaned my carpets pretty well and reduce the odors. I wouldnt say this is a magic carpet cleaner that can get rid of everything but it sure does help. Con: This con is kinda personal, i really do not like the quality of the detergent used ( Hoover detergent or Hoover Pet plus) . There is barely a fragrance that it outputs, its really bland. Short term review/ third month
The cleaner does a good job it just takes a little longer because the tank is smaller than the old one. Overall though I like it better because it's easier to use. The empty tank comes out easier and you don't have to take the top off to empty it. The cleaning tank adds the solution from a separate compartment in the same tank. I also like the fact that the attachments come in their own separate bag instead of hanging from the back of the machine. I don't know how long the motor will last. Great - for the price
I like the machine as it seems to clean very well. There are many plastic parts that only time will tell if they hold up. But the cleaning is as good as i would expect from this priced machine. This is my second one of these, in fact the same exact model. The last one the brushes stopped rotating and I tore it apart and I could find no way to fix the problem. I have used a rival brank with heat cleaning that did not do as good a job as the Hoover. I hope the breakdown was a quirtk, but this great cleaning with the added thought of having idential bins for the cleaning solution and the extraction water was a plus that put me back into this same model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Hoover PowerScrub
I had a Hoover cleaner for 15 years, very dependable. How ever it died, I bought this PowerScrub, it was easy to assemble. Its 10 x's better than my old one. Its quieter, has much more suction. Best "Do it yourself" carpet cleaner
Had another brand of carpet shampooing machine. It really didn't clean very well and it didn't last very long. I threw it in the trash and thought I would just have to have a cleaning service do the job Which can get expensive. A friend has the Hoover H50150 machine and ask if I wanted to try it. I did, and couldn't believe what a super job it did. I immediately bought one for myself. I don't know yet about longevity but it does a great job. A JOY TO USE!
I have had this for a few weeks now and have used it three times, each with great success. Steam extraction carpet cleaners just didn't do a great job on the carpet. This Hoover Power Scrub had an instruction manual that was easy to read, the machine was easy to put together, it was easy to operate, easy to maneuver, and the four circular scrubbing brushes did an EXCELLENT job of removing 90 percent of 27 years of old dirt and grime from the offwhite carpeting in the owner bedroom. Next came my 10 various sized area rugs which I cleaned on my garage floor and dried in the sun on my driveway. They look as fresh and clean as the day I bought them. Again, excellent results. I bought these area rugs for use in our Michigan bed and breakfast 1997-2002. They've been used in all my homes since. On the patio at my current home is an inexpensive outdoor area rug which was neglected for three years. I first hosed it off, then used my Hoover Power Scrubber. Looks almost brand new! "Consumer Reports" gave another brand a better rating. But I bought this Hoover Power Scrub carpet scrubber upon a glowing recommendation of a cousin. I am almost 72, and this is the third carpet cleaning machine I've owned. It is not only reasonably priced at around $179. It came with the easy-to-read operating manual, a bottle of carpet cleaning solution, and bag of attachments for cleaning upholstry and stairs. The attachments are also easy to use. Great Machine - One Problem
This is a fantastic home carpet cleaner . . . easy to use and does a more-than-adequate job for general cleaning, pet soiling, food spills, etc. My present machine is the second one I have purchased . . . and that is the one problem. This carpet cleaner has removable (for cleaning) rotating brushes in the suction head. A shaft on the brush assembly inserts into a square hole in the bottom of the cleaning head, and the rotating hole rotates the five brushes. The hole stopped rotating, hence, so did the brushes. This exact thing happened on an earlier Hoover model I had, after which I purchased the FH50150. (Replacing the part in the cleaning head that rotates the hole is virtually impossible to fix oneself, and having an authorized Hoover dealer fix is is cost-prohibitive.) I love the FH50150 to the point where I just purchased the identical model, hoping that I do not get the same malfunction as the first one (with the same mechanism) and the first FH50150. I gave the broken one to my daughter because the spray-and-suction function still works OK; it's just that it no longer has the rotating-brushes action. I REALLY like this machine, and seriously hope that the same problem does not occur with the one I just purchased. By the way, great price for this good machine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
