Hit and Miss Performance
The automatic feature of this product is extremely buggy. The machine does a poor job of detecting the bag for vacuuming and sealing. I spent a painful amount of time inserting bags into the vacuum seal slot, and reinserting, in attempt to get the machine to detect the bag to vacuum and seal. Easy to use,like it so far
We tried our the sealer with some fresh fish my husband had caught and cleaned. It was amazingly easy to do. I like to buy meat in bulk-family sized packages whenever on sale. Better than its predecessor
I had the predecessor to this unit and it lost its quick vacuum ability. Still worked but too slowly. Had it for 5 years though and it saves my wife and me a lot of money as we live out in the country and when we go into the large stores like COSTCO and H.E.B., we buy bulk. We then package the meats and such in smaller packages and freeze them. This unit is easier to operate than the other one. Perfect for Sous Vide
I have had a FoodSaver machine for many years and would be lost without one. When my previous machine finally died I knew I wanted one that would handle wet foods. Let the shopping begin... I looked at all the machines that said they would work with sous vide cooking and would handle sealing wet foods. I finally selected this FoodSaver.V-4840 and I couldn't be happier. It is easy to clean and so much better to use. Having the bag storage area and the auto seal is just frosting on the cake. wont seal automatically
It will not seal automatically.The vacuum goes to the 3rd light but continues to run and will not seal automatically so you have to push he seal button. Very hard to clean.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
