Legendary IIC+ tone, modern features.
I originally thought the IIC+ hype was just that, but wow was I surprised at the punch this amp packs. I've had a Mark V for 2 years and the IIC+ mode on the V is great, but simply does not hold up to this. It's got the low end thump of a Rectifier but the tightness, attack, and voice-like harmonically rich sustain of a Mark. It really is a special amplifier. Having 2 graphic EQs is amazing. Shred mode is awesome, especially when playing at low volume, and with 7/8 string guitars and low tuning sounds. Rhythm tones are simply crushing. The lead tones to be had are so unbelievably expressive and smooth. The clean channel is incredible, maybe even better than the Mark V, which is saying a lot-the V has fantastic cleans. The effects loop is incredibly transparent, and having a switch to choose between line and instrument levels is great. The reverb sounds fantastic as well. This head is worth every penny I forked over for it.
