Birds love 'em
I always buy sunflower hearts as there is no waste (unlike the black seeds that accumulate in piles under the feeder attracting rats and looking unsightly) Also, I've had issues with the mixed seed variety germinating and creating annoying weeds. A huge variety of birds seem attracted by them: green finches, gold finches, robins, sparrows and plenty of ground feeders too. The hearts seem to be popular all year round, not just in the winter. The large 20kg sack is good value too as I have to top up my large 6 port feeder every 2-3 days.
