Had this saw for a couple carpentry jobs now. Came out the box with no tweaking needed. Angles all perfectly set. As you expect from Dewalt it's really solid with a quality motor and for it's size, powerful. Although the handle is comfortable the slide action is quite stiff, so when you're cutting 20 or 30 pieces in quick succession it starts to ache quite quick. Overall I love it. Beats my old SIP mitre saw in every aspect, and the Dewalt stand I bought with it is well worth the extra money compared to other stands. Almost all my tools are Dewalt. Those that aren't will be when replacements needed.
Slight run-out on the cutter so not perfectly precise even with the shadow cutter alignment.
Angle setting is not as precise as I would like: Up to 1° error is possible which makes a difference in a long cut.
I would prefer a metal clamp at the rear, to alter the tilt angle, instead of plastic. The plastic will break eventually if knocked / dropped.
I had to add tape the cutter removal tool to prevent it falling out and getting lost.
There was only 1 clamp included instead of 2.
Overall though it cuts well and is a very useful tool.
The motor should be more reliable than most of the cheaper options.
The cut is excellent. The sliding arms are a little stiff if the saw is not anchored down. I have not found a depth stop which would e very useful. Overall I am highly delighted with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
Its very compact, light weight. Have a slidincg mechanism, that allows it to cut larger boards, at the same time it does not make the tool bulkier.
The sosnly downside so far is that it does not have a depth stop function.
Absolutely spot-on. The saw itself is excellent in build quality but like all adjustable tools you do have to get used to the character of your own machine. Don't assume the angles to be correct. When I bought this, I did buy the DeWalt DE7033 Leg Stand which I think is essential unless your setting it up on your own workbench. For me, combined with the short beam leg bench it's a joy to use. One criticism: I tried to register the saw for warranty but couldn't find the serial number ANYWHERE and there's no way (at least, that I could find) to speak to or contact DeWalt.
Excellent value for money.
Get exactly what you pay for.
Only slight issue is start buttons are a bit awkward.
Also difficult if you left handed.
All in all fantastic piece of kit.
Nice bit of quality kit , nice size and not too heavy nice touch with the carrying handles - the shadow line marker is really good ,seeing is believing
Easy to move around. Accurate enough for general finishing woodwork. Noisier than expected. Reasonable dust extraction. Replaced the course supplied blade with an Axminster Cutpro which improves the quality of the cut enormously, particularly reducing tearout, for a better cleaner finish.
Apart from it being awkward to start with one hand it is a great machine, although I am getting some sparkling from the moter when it is in use for a while.
Apart from that I would recommend it.
