Incredible system for the money
I didn't give the system a 5 star rating because of the quality of sound. Don't misunderstand me, it sounds great especially for the price. However it has it's limitations but to have paid less than $150 for a 5.1 1000W system that absolutely rocks my 900 sq. ft. unit I'm blown away. Back in the day of bigger houses and huge systems I spent hundreds of dollars just for a sub not to mention thousands on receivers, tape players, turntables, amps, laser disc players, DVD players, subs and speakers. This little system does a great job of providing more than a pleasurable experience. Sub shakes the walls and the speakers transmit sound clearly (see below). My only 2 issues, and they are small considering the price I paid, are the limitations of settings and the sound from the center channel speaker. I wouldn't say the sound is bad at all, but the clarity of reproduction leaves a little bit to be desired. Remember these small criticisms come from a true audiophile who loves his music and home theater experiences so take them for what they're worth. I would have bought this system for the retail price and still felt like I got a great deal, but to spend what I did on a used but fully functional set-up I feel like I stole something. If you're looking for a home theater system that gives you apps, Bluetooth, 3D and Blu Ray/HD movies/TV flexibility and much more buy the BVD-3100 with confidence. Design problem
The video seems to have a design problem. I have had 2 of these and both did the same thing. the video would cut out from time to time. Sometimes just a flicker, sometimes it would be gone Long enough for the tv to think it had just turned on. Audio is fine. Good Replacement
This type of combo blu-ray and surround sound is no longer made. The used unit I purchased seems to be in good shape overall except it takes much longer for the sound to start after turning it on than my original unit. Great value, excellent sound and features
Very happy with all the features and more importantly the sound. Like being in a movie theater. Lot of bass for a small system. Works great with blue tooth, feeding audio from my Tivo is excellent as well as DVD. Only reason not a 5 star is that setting up the internet access was funky (had to call support twice) and the user interface is slow and kind of clunky. But once set up it works very well. Powerful low profile system that plays multiple media and streaming
My purchase was a used console to replace mine that got wet and malfunctioned. I stuck with it, because this system works great for a big sound in small-medium size rooms with ability to play physical (DVD, CD) and streaming media (Netflix, YouTube...). Easy to use and understand. The product might be good but without proprietary speaker connectors which cannot be bought and easily replaced, the system has not been tested or used to date. Three of these connectors are missing including one for the sub-woofer. This is the 3rd one I've had the first one was taken out by lightning 😔. I've been trying to get another true Surround sound not just a sound bar. I don't like them.
