  • Great phone with only modest battery life

This is a great phone with great features and of course it has stock android which means you get all the updates and can easily root it without worrying. The only issue I have with the phone is battery life, which is modest but not great. The phone does not last a day with heavy usage. I wish it did. I talk on the phone for 6 to 7 hours daily, and if I use other applications such as web browsing, music or video, it needs charging at least one extra time per day. Could be that Marshmallow is part of the issue, though I've cleared the caches and that has given some improvement. I am used to a BLU Studio Energy 2, which obviously has phenomenal battery life with its 5000 mAh battery, but this phone is still much better than my old Samsung Galaxy S4, so overall I'm pleased. Note that some of these phones have a manufacturing defect that causes the speakers to stop working, which is what happened with the first one I bought. Seller replaced promptly without issue. Great Seller.

  • Battery life

Battery life was less than stellar when first receiving the phone, though replacement was fairly easy and battery was expected to have been diminished due to the fair condition of the phone. Otherwise, the phone works brilliantly. Great size and speed.

  • Nexus 5: For an old phone, it still works great

GPS tracking is accurate, battery life is (still) decent, audio is good. Camera and resulting pictures could use some work (which losses a star). Plays the latest games without too much issue. Screen is usually responsive, but it can get laggy if there are a lot of resource significant apps running in the background (Music, GPS, games, messaging). 32GB is enough for me, but maybe not for a heavy smart phone user. Since it has a sim card, it works with my carrier (T-Mobile or ATT, whichever)

  • Compact, powerful, no bloatware

After switching from Galaxy to this, I was instantly sold. It is a great sized phone. The pictures come out fantastic despite the lower specs (by today's standards). It feels quite solid as if could be dropped a few times with no worries; though i wouldn't recommend putting that to the test. It also lacks any of Samsung's bloatware or notification spam which is my favorite part!

  • Best phone of 2013, 2014 & probably 2015

I absolutely love this phone! It runs so smooth still in 2016. This is an unbelievable phone. The Battery life is not so great, but it does not lag, still handle all Games and fits nicely in your Hand/Pocket. It runs smoother than my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 & that's pretty sad. If you have them next to each other The nexus 5 is faster on everything except some Games & if they are not next to each other you can't tell the difference. I highly recommend this phone to anyone buying a "Budget" phone, or even anyone buying a premium one. I have the Nexus 6P and still find myself going back to this phone...

  • Sweet little performer

This phone's a treat to carry after my clunky Galaxy 5. Grippy rubber sides have saved its life a couple times already. Wish it had 64GB, but hey, I've got everything I need on it. Got a super bright screen and strong sound output. Its easy to work on. I bought it as a fixer and it was easy to hack it out of the bootloop it was stuck in - took less than an hour. Best phone I've bought for sixty bucks. If I see another like it I'll buy it for a linux hack.

  • Nexus 5 - Excellent Phone!

The Nexus 5 isn't the fanciest phone on the block, especially in today's competitive market, but what I like is the great looks, thin form factor and quality build. I wish it had a battery that was easier to swap in/out and it would be nice if it had a micro-SD slot. But, what I really like is the fact that it doesn't have the bloat-ware (preloaded apps and utilities) that the other competitors load up on their phones. I don't use 90% of that stuff and they just eat battery life and processor clicks with stuff I don't want nor use. The Nexus 5 is excellent because it has minimal of that extra garbage onboard! Battery life and speed is super. I'll be happy with this phone for a long time!

  • Upgradable

Because it is a Nexus brand, this phone is among the first to upgrade to the Android version. All of the features are excellent. The size avoids being a "Phablet."

  • Even in mid 2016 the Nexus 5 still has respectable specs and performance

This phone is still pretty impressive. It has been several years since its debut but the phone still has respectable specs and, thanks to a stock andriod interface, very good performance. Pair that with the recent upgrade to Marshmallow and you have an affordable phone that should get you through the next couple of years at least. The camera is actually pretty good, too. The screen is big and looks very nice, until you go outside or are in a very bright room, then the budget screen is a bit hard to see. But in the vast majority of circumstances it looks great. My last 2 phones were Samsungs, I got tired of waiting for too long for maybe one OS update and then a notification that they were no longer supporting the phone. Nonsense. This is my first stock Android phone and I am hooked. A second hand Nexus 5 can be had for around $100, a great price for a snappy phone with a current Android OS.

  • From Iphone to Nexus 5

I bought this phone for my husband who has been a avid Iphone man. It took him a little while to get the op sys down with the Nexus 5 but he lives it! Its super fast, takes awesome pics and the screen is big enough to utilize as a tablet and see very clear. Very happy with it! He also works in construction and this phone case has been awesome too!!
