Product Information
This rugged square-link steel chain is ideal for securing gates, cycles or other vulnerable items. The hardened steel lock features a double bearing mechanism and an 11mm hardened steel shackle. The lock is reinforced to resist both drilling and picking. This chain and lock combo features 1.8 metres of 12mm thick chain enclosed in a protective sleeve. Insurance accepted as Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold
A great product at a reasonable price, Insurance co recognised it as Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold (& Thatcham approved) heavy duty 12mm welded square (apparently hardened) links, I haven't tried smashing the 11mm lock but it seems a reasonably good deterrent, box was split on arrival (not really surprising given the weight) but the product was intact. Easy to use, no stiffness with either key (2 supplied) and a weather cover to protect the lock. @1.8m its long enough for 2 bikes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very strong heavy duty lock
Having looked at various different chanins and locks i am glad that i have bought this one. The green sheeth yes will eventually get dirty but it stands out and is an obvious deterrent for theft. Its also held in place with a clasp to stop it slidinf off the chain and getting in the way of the chain links when tou want to lock it whicjh i have experienced with other cheaper chains. The lock is a super heavy steel, dont let the plastic look fool tou, this is once again to protect the lock from theft and wear and tear. No bike is immune from theft, unless garaged and bolted to the floor with disc locks with alarms and a tracker but this sure makes it a lot harder than without. Im glad I bought the larger 2meter chain as it allows me to put it around the rear wheel twice which I do and this way it also keeps the chain off the ground and out of standing water and will hopefully be cleaner and last longer. Mammoth bike lock.
Initially I saw this chain and was attracted by its hi viz cover and robust design. The chain and lock combo is enough to deter a scrote nicking my bike. It is certainly heavy duty! The padlock fits snugly around the chain link so no room to jam anything into the space. Not something you would want to carry about, so I leave it at work, wrapped around the railings for the pushbikes.
