Great product but avoid using on a very hot BBQ
I bought this as I often cook chicken wings on the BBQ & they are fiddly to manage and also fat/marinade falls onto the charcoal & flares up. Being aware that other people had complained that this & similar products looked burned & were difficult to clean after use, I was careful to avoid them being too close to the charcoal & when the BBQ was very hot. Everything cooked really well. I had the same BBQ taste but it was much easier to manage. Once I had finished, a quick wash returned them to the condition that they were when I received them. I will be using them every time from now on. If they do look scorched or otherwise affected after a few uses, they are cheap enough to buy replacements from time to time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

cheap and nasty
they look nice but you have to trim them to size unless you have a massive bbq they do stop the food from falling through and do cook evenly for a bit then the stick you then turn them over until that sticks as well then when you go to clean them the fall to bits single use onlyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very sceptical BUT
I was not sure if it would work as stated, but more than happy with results. Grilled courgettes, onions, spring onions and came out great with chard markings of grill on all veg, looked really professional. Meat sausages gave similar effect , but not as pronounced as direct on grill, but stopped food from being burnt. Just washed in soapy water dead easy. A great product at a great price! I was kind of sceptical about this product as to how good and useful it would be......but I'd certainly recommend it if you're bored of tedious troublesome cleaning up after using your BBQ! You do still get 'charring' of your food, but, no longer do you have to take the heavy BBQ grill plates into scrub at tirelessly. Should have got one years ago
I bbq regularly so I got this for our place over in Spain as I had not seen anything like this in the shops over there. It is of good quality and I use it mainly for the more delicate things like seafood and vegetables that I don't really want on the direct heat etc. I have warmed flat breads and the like also. Very useful for items that might fall through the grill. The heat transfer is very good without burning. It is wash and wipe clean ready for the next time. Barbeque Mat
Put the mat on the gas barbeque, brilliant. I normally spit roast chickens but this time I "Spatchcocked" it (split down the middle, flattened & held with two skewers. Lightly oiled it, pepper & cajun spice then laid it on the mat to cook. Started the heat high then turned it right down with the lid shut. Cooked the large chicken in 35 minutes. It was really tasty and juicy. Will do it this way all the time. Prawns & Tuna steaks are next on the list. Heat resistant and easy to clean.
I have used other products on my BBQ to prevent burning and sticking of meat etc. to the grill but nothing worked very well. However this product does work and it is so easy to clean afterwards. It does slow down the heat getting through so things take a little long to cook, but then so does everything else I have tried.I haven't had them very long so don't know how long they will last but when worn out I would certainly buy again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

BBQ Mat - Saves your bacon ;)
Was a bit skeptical about purchasing these mats initially but my fears were put to bed completely once I had used them. I now use one for my BBQ and one for the bottom of my cooker. The sheets stop food from sticking to the bars on the BBQ and you really do get the BBQ bar stripes on your burgers. Because the sheet is flat you also get an even temperature across the burgers or whatever elese you are BBQing (BBQ'd bacon mmmm). Obvioulsy you will still get fatty run offs which run into the bottom of your BBQ (if it's Gas fired) or onto the coals if it's charcole. I'm hopeing that future versions of this mat have sides so that you can lift it off the BBQ bars and empty the fat into a cup or whatever, this might make the sheet a little more rigid but I hate cleaning my BBQ ;)

These grill pads are very good value, they help stop all of the grease running into the BBQ and saves a lot of cleaning. I find that if I have some kitchen roll with me I can soak up the grease as I'm cooking, the are also very easy to clean by just putting them into hot soapy water for a short while and then wiping them, I understand you can put them into the dishwasher but I've not tried that as yet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
