One of the best used DSLR's available
With superb image quality and the vast array of lenses available in Pentax K-mount and the option of M42 mount lenses via a cheap adaptor, the Pentax K3 is a good choice for budget savvy photographer's. Dual Sd card slots mean that you have the ability to have a backup SD card in case one fails on you during a shoot and also the ability to shoot RAW to one card and Jpegs to another. It also offers class leading weather sealing and a tough magnesium chassis combined with built in IBIS image stabilisation. There are other camera's around at this price range with better specs but in most causes if you want image stabilisation, you'll be playing extra as it's built in to the lenses and not the camera body so you end up playing a lot more in the long run.

Irratic ecposure
This is my 4th Pentax after the *isDS, K10 & K5 so I'm familiar with the controls & techniques of using Pentax cameras. The K3 tends towards over-exposure with some shots requiring considerable post processing to get right. GREEN Mode is worst of all due to inability to adjust/compensate exposure; in all other modes, I’ve turned down the exposure by 1/3 stop so as not to blow out the highlights. JPGs straight out of the camera are extremely disappointing. RAW is the only way to use the K3 to allow you to adjust for what the camera fails to do properly i.e. take a well exposed shot on a consistent basis.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This Pentax has been the best camera that I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of cameras, I was extremely lucky to find this mint condition Pentax K3 body for sale on E-Bay and it was virtually brand new because the shutter count was only 695! This is a professional quality camera, it is weather proof so can be used in rain or snow, it has a solid metal body so is rugged and excellent build quality. It is very compact and has a fantastic grip which fits my hand like a glove. Pentax K-3 SLR Camera
Excellent camera if you have photography knowlege. Very handy for midle size hands. Picture quality is really good with higher model f2.8 or f4.0 lenses (not kit once like 18-135 or other cheap option good for lower pentax models). AF works well but with 1.3 firmware version! If campate to K-5 all things are much better (eg.: light mesurment , af, viewfinder, lcd, build and finish as well). Highly recomended!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Much underrated 24MP DSLR that can use any K mount lens
I have been trying to get a good Pentax 24MP SLR for a few years now. This K3 replaces a 6MP Pentax Istd model. I also bought a very good 2nd hand zoom 16-85 lens for it, as the Istd only came with the standard lens. I have had Pentaxes for decades, starting with the classic ME super film camera. Most want a Canon or Nikon these days but the Pentax is awesome with a good lens and I don't need a full frame model.
