3 Series Convertible wind deflector
I really enjoy the BMW 3 Series convertible OEM wind deflector. The screen, while porous, works remarkably well in eliminating buffeting wind from front seat passengers and it is clear enough to see traffic. The one drawback is that it limits the passengers to front seats only, but that typically is not a problem for most drivers. I like that the release that operates the connecting rods retracts the rods on both sides in the rear, so one twist will allow the bottom back of the screen to be lifted to remove items stored in the back seat without removing the screen. Afterward, it can be lowered and both rods reset with twist of the release. I've not tried folding it into quarters and storing it in the trunk, but it seems very easy and convenient. I purchased mine used on Ebay, at a substantial discount, but would have gladly paid the full price knowing how effective it is. I do have a concern that the screen can be punctured, but if it ever happens and the rest of the mechanism is still functional, I suspect I could repair it without much difficulty.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Very mixed feelings
This wind deflector is helpful when it is laying down, as a great way to prevent the wind from picking up anything stored on the back seat of the car when the top is down. It doesn't however, stay up the way it is supposed to, to prevent the wind from rolling around the back and hitting the driver and passenger in the head. The "catches" are all plastic, and with the first big gust of wind, the catches gave way and the deflector fell down flat, and it does the same thing now with the slightest gust of wind. The catches should be much more well-built to hold the deflector up where it's positioned in order to do its job. For the money, I think it was a poor value, because it was definitely expensive. If you need something to cover the back seat items from the wind, then it's perfect.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Makes Top Down Driving Very Enjoyable
This is an OEM part. I purchased it for a 'new' used car because I had the same item in a previous BMW convertible that really made top down driving much more enjoyable. Unfortunately it was a different model and didn't fit. It's easy to install, remove and operate as well as easy to store when folded. Wind Dies Down
This wind deflector works better than I expected. Because it covers the back seat, wind is prevented from entering that area and whipping behind the front seats. It’s so good, I don’t need a hat to prevent my hair from becoming tangled. Installation is a breeze and the hardtop clears it when closed. Excellent OEM wind deflector for BMW E93 (3 series convertible 07'13')!

On the open with no wind
I was a bit skeptical on the claims made over the wind deflector, but they turn out to be true. I acquired a rather pricey one, not the cheap variety and could not be happier. Appears to be of very good quality, it folds and unfolds smoothly; hinges are solid, so are latches. Fits in my trunk and best of all, it works as advertised; both wind and sound are greatly diminished allowing my wife and I to ride without having to wear head a cap or hat. A world of difference. This was a no brainer purchase, unless you like wearing hats in a convertible. I have owned other convertables without the wind deflector and believe me I will never own one WITHOUT a wind deflector.
