Exploring new folk music is a pleasure for me, but the genre is pretty wide and you can end up with something that offers just one attractive track. This though was a good speculative purchase. Breabach offer an excellent balance of faster music (bagpipe mediated, but pleasantly so) and more lilting ballads that seemed charming. The songs are rendered in a mix of Gaelic and English and there's a distinctive green agenda to the offerings (one is an accolade to wind farms). The packaging visuals are good with a nice selection of notes on the track and picture of the band. FAS means growing, as in sprouting, and that seems a good title as well as the name of one of the tracks. I'm guessing its a floral cow's face on the front but I might be wrong! Anyway, its made it into my regular CD airing pile and if you're a folky you might well enjoy it. I do.
