Bosch GMS 120 Pro - Excellent Kit
As with all this type of kit you really need to read the book - 127pages but only 7 are in English!! There is also a brilliant video from Bosch on U-tube which clearly shows you how to use the product. Great quality and while not the cheapest it does work. It will even pick up plastic pipes full of water - just read the book. Display is clear and clean, well made - as you would expect from Bosch - and comes with the battery and a protective pouch. After reading all the reviews I am well pleased with my decision to go for the GMS 120 Professional with its three year warranty to boot.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

OK product once you understand limitations.
While this is a good product be warned, it does have limitations. For example, it will detect a metal bracket on the reverse side of a wall. However, it became very confused trying to detect wooden battens fixed to brickwork through plasterboard - although it worked elsewhere on a partition with plasterboard either side of the studwork. So, it's not perfect and you need to be sure of the capability of the device before you trust it. For me, it was good value as I had a 10ukp discount voucher and shopped around saving 30ukp compared to a leading DIY store. Had I paid full-price I doubt if I would have thought it as being of good value.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great for DIY
As a DIY user when with some practice I gained a reasonable level of accuracy at finding wiring and wood in walls. The £80 tool that gives you X-Ray powers
For the 80 or so pounds it costs, it does the job perfectly well, unlike cheaper alternatives. It finds the center of studs, wires and metals burried in the wall with sub-milimeter accuracy. It is so accurate, that it can have huge, broad use. You could even use it when nailing furniture, because it's that accurate, it will show you the edge of any metal or wooden object (and tell you what it is, metal, wire, wood, cavity) with extreme accuracy. So if you're nailing or screwing shelves together blindly, this tool will work there too. It's a few grand short of a portable x-ray with screen visualisation, but it does just as good of a job. Not worth the extra money

Detects things but how well?

Best safety product in your toolbox.
If you are a safety conscious diy’er or professional this product is a must have in your toolbox.
