  • a truly remarkable film

Another great example of world cinema, from one of our great contemporary directors - Ang Lee - who's film contains an opening scene of culinary preparation that's as astonishing as many other action movies and more entertaining! A wonderful tale of a father and his three daughters, their interpersonal relationships, joys and tribulations at work and a chance at starting over on a new journey for all. So good was this movie, that Hollywood took the script and made their wonderful version "Tortilla Soup" which is also a great delight - and too filled with the highs and lows that is a mark of good story telling and great cinema. A superb offering from Ang Lee and well a worthy addition to any cinephile's collection on first class entertainment :)
