    Very effective

I believe this product would very effective in most situations but I had a massive infestation of trumpet snails. In the middle of the night when they come out i found that I couln't see through the glass at the end where the automatic feeder is. I never realised how just many had been building up in the substrate despite my vacuuming. It took over a week of midnight glass scraping them into an aquarium only jug until only babies seemed to be left. Then I treated with Esha Gastropex but as well as some empty shells left on the substrate one or two still kept climbing up the glass. With a childs water pistol which was just a 16" 40cm straight tube with a nozzle at one end and a syphon to draw water into it. I mixed enough Gastropex with aqaurium water to fill this godsend twice. By pushing it to the bottom of the substraight I could inject it exactly where I wanted it to reach. After several doses done this way I am now virtually snail free and most of the tiny newly born critters are trapped in my prefiltersfoams and then dispatched. I find Esha Gatropex to be very effective and with some ingenuity you can get it wherever it seems most needed.

    Snail eradication

I am still trying this product. Certainly killed a lot of the snails in the aquarium. Best to try and get rid of most of them before you use this product. I am going to use it again in 10 days time like it tells you to do on the packet. You must make sure you eradicate them all or they will lay eggs and you will end up with more. After use it certainly helped to clear the water in the aquarium. After 10 days I tried this product again but didn’t eradicate the snails as mentioned but I lost four descent fish in the process. This was used as described on the packet. I would have been better purchasing two assassin snails or three loaches to eat the snails.

  • Didn’t do a single thing

It didn’t do anything. I still have a massive snail invasion in my aquarium. Snails are still breeding at an extreme rate. The treatment didn’t do a single thing to help. Because it did not work for me does not mean it would not work for somebody else, but I personally It didn’t do anything. I still have a massive snail invasion in my aquarium. • Total wipe out...

Noticed an increase in the number for snails in my tank so decided to purchase this product. Followed instructions as per packaging. And after a few hours my fish were going mental. Jumping out the water hitting the tanks lid. Swimming erratically and seemed in some distress I cleaned 20% of the water to see if this helped button didn’t and I woke up the following morning to a fish deth camp... however ironically my unwanted snails seemed to survive

  • Don't buy!

Brought this as had a small infestation of snails in my 300litre tank. I only put a small amount in as i was a little worried about putting the stated amount in for my size tank. Within a few hours my fish were acted strange, my pleco was frantically shooting around the tank, and all my other fish were acting strange. I contacted the seller, they replied with advice and stated that they have "sold 100s of this treatment and never had any problems" this turned out to be a lie after reading feedback and reviews! I did two 25% water changes to see of this would help. Come the next morning I had 2 dead danios and 5 rummy nose were dead also. my remaining fish were not eating, they had lost their colour. IE, my tiger barbs, cardinal tetras, danios rummy nose were all pale and had no colour at all. So i did a 50% water change. Went work etc when I came home I was absolutely devasted to find my pleco (that I have had for 2 years) dead on its back with my tiger barbs eating its eyes! I contacted the seller and have had no reply. within 4 days of me putting this stuff in my tank I lost 18 fish. Thankful my remaining fish all seem to be well now. Please do not buy this stuff!

  • Worth trying

Still have loads of snails, but not as many as before, just hoping its killed off the eggs. Used exactly as directed in the instructions. lost a guppy and a platy after second day just hoping it wasn't this that caused it as my water parameters are all within safe levels.

  • BAD EXPERIENCE

Faily novice when it comes to tropical fish tanks etc but notice I was getting a lot of unwanted snails on a monthly basis, thought I would give this product a try and wish I hadn't! Was very strict on how much I put into my tank, and firstly I noticed it made the water go a green colour - After a few hours I'd noticed alot of my fish swimming more extremely and chasing each other which wasn't usual practice - Woke up there next day to find that 5 fish had died, wasn't sure what was the best thing to do so tried to seak advice but by the time I had another 3 had died - Unfortunately before I used this product I had 11 fish and snails, after I've got 3 fish and snails! Not great.

  • Good but needs multiple applications

The solution does work but don't expect instant results. Followed the instructions and this caused our pesky snails to head above the water line - so easy to remove. However, one application has reduced numbers, not eradicated the snails entirely. So reapply and repeat...

  • Does what it says on the tin.

I'd guess there is enough here to treat quite a large tank. 300 Litres maybe. I had a nasty infestation of trumpet snails which are notoriously hard to get rid of. One treatment of this and they were dead overnight. I followed the instructions to the letter and re-treated after 2 weeks to kill off any newly hatched eggs. This was about 2 months ago and I have recently seen some tiny snails in the tanks. Obviously it didn't kill off ALL the eggs then. I've bought a 2nd bottle and am currently re-treating. I'm sure this will get rid of the last of them. The fish have not been affected in any way. (Freshwater Cichlid and Tetras). It does not colour the water or stain any decor.

  • Snail killer treatment

The product work extremely well and got rid of all the snail that had infested my tank when I introduced more live plants and didn't affect my fish. I did a partial water change after because of the dead snail that where floating around. Would definitely recommend this 100%😆
