A bit of bling
I have always been a bit snobbish about 'luxury' watches. I mean, what's the point? You can get a good-looking functional equivalent for a small fraction of the price. That said, when you're looking at second hand, the fraction gets substantially larger. My last watch cost around half what I paid for this one and I think I was right to splash out. Whilst it isn't ostentatious, this little machine is pleasantly 'blingy'. It's a bit like the difference between a cheap little runabout and one of those German saloon cars you sometimes get a lift in. They both do the same job, but one of them is just nicer in a host of tiny ways. To give an example of one, the watch is way shinier than any I have owned before, yet the crystal is also anti-reflective meaning it never turns into a mirror the way the crystals on cheaper models do. The bracelet fastens and unfastens nicely too. It's just extremely stylish, but for reasons best known to itself, the eBay AI changed my answer to 'is it stylish?' to 'no' and refuses to budge.
