Sugary sweet for a crime novel.
Crime story is OK, was interested in settings in Northumberland, but far too much of concentration on Ryan & his staff's private life, philosophy, idealisms etc which is far too sugary sweet and really detracts from story & pace of crime. fair , wasn't very inviting but I thought it was worth investigating to see if I was wrong , I wasn't !! .
